Why Some Kogi Christians did not support James Faleke

Why Some Kogi Christians did not support James Faleke

Some Christians in Kogi state have obviously remained indifferent on the issue of allowing James Faleke to be Governor of Kogi State despite the cry of marginalization by Christians in the state and by some Christian politicians. Rev Dr. A.A. Adams the General Overseer of Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN) said there are divergent views on the candidature of Mr Falake. He said it is true that Christians in Kogi State have often been relegated to the second class seat in the political affairs of the state but many are of the view that Mr James Faleke is not the awaited savior. “The idea that James Faleke is not an indigent of Kogi State is a very critical starting point. Many are trying to understand why he will be the candidate.” It is said that Mr James Faleke only became a candidate in Kogi to play the cards of his boss Ahmed  Bola Tinubu who has not dismissed the dream of becoming a president in Nigeria.
The Church leader said the politics of Kogi entered a different dimension with the dead of Prince Abubakar Audu. He called on Christians in Kogi and the entire Northern Nigeria to be proactive in defending their faith and also unite and play a collective role in Nation building.
Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria is an Evangelical Fellowship founded among Igala and Idoma by Western Missionaries in 1919 was incorporated in Nigeria in 1982. It has over 400 parishes spread across Nigeria. CEFN is a member of the Tarrayan Ekkiliyan Krista a Nijeriya (TEKAN) an Ecumenical fellowship of Evangelical Churches in Nigeria.
